A prominent hotel in Tampa's Westshore Business District is changing flags, from Wyndham to Holiday Inn, with a temporary stopover under the Quorum Hotel brand.

The Wyndham Tampa Westshore officially became Quorum Hotel Jan. 1, hotel officials say. By spring the 272-room property will be a Holiday Inn, officials add. “Ownership, property managers and quality staff service will all remain the same as it has since 1995,” general manager Pam Avery says in a release. “The property is simply changing brand names.”

The Quorum name should be familiar to Tampa business aficionados. That was the hotel's flag from 2005 to 2010, when it operated independently. Dallas-based Quorum Hotels and Resorts will retain management and operations of the property under the Holiday Inn flag.

“Quorum believes strongly that the new Holiday Inn brand is an ideal fit for the Westshore market,” Quorum Hotels & Resorts President Ted Mosley says in the statement. “We look forward to supporting the hotel through the transition and are excited about the future.”
