TAMPA — HD Supply Facilities Maintenance Ltd. (HD Supply) signed a lease to occupy 229,308 square feet in Tampa's Madison Business Center. The deal fills the largest Class-A vacancy in the Metro Tampa Bay market, according to the building's landlord, Industrial Developments International.

Atlanta-based HD Supply will use the space as a center for the distribution for janitorial supplies.

Following the lease, 156,311 square feet of space remains vacant in the 385,619-square-foot Building A of Madison Business Center, at 4406 Madison Industrial Lane, Tampa.

“HD Supply relocated to Madison Business Center to be closer to some of their major distribution end points, making them even more accessible to their centers of operation while providing more efficient logistics,” Larry Dinner, vice president of leasing industrial Developments International's Florida office, says in a press release. “This lease is a testament to HD Supply's growth and demonstrates the growing demand within the market.”

HD Supply currently has distribution centers in Lakeland, Orlando, Jacksonville and Pembroke Park.

Built in 2008, Madison Business Center is a 58-acre development located off U.S. 41. The industrial park currently has 532,000 square feet developed to date across two buildings. Three additional building sites are planned, ranging from 100,000 to more than 200,000 square feet.

Brian Rettig and Kevin Hoover of CBRE represented HD Supply, and Rick Narkiewicz of CBRE represented Industrial Developments International.
