Lennar hires new land acquisition manager

TAMPA — Lennar's Central Florida Division has hired homebuilding executive Jim McCarthy as land acquisition manager for the Tampa Bay area.

McCarthy, who graduated from the University of South Florida, formerly served as vice president of land acquisition for M/I Homes and KB Home. He has more than 15 years of experience in land acquisition and development in the home building industry.

In his new role, McCarthy will be focusing on acquiring raw land and developed home sites throughout the Tampa Bay area.

“We are pleased to have an executive of Jim's caliber join our land team,” Mark Metheny, president of Lennar's Central Florida Division, says in a press release. “With the advantages of his experience throughout Hillsborough, Pinellas, Pasco and Polk counties, he will play a significant role in our continued growth in the Tampa Bay region.”

Lennar currently builds in more than 40 communities in the Tampa Bay and Orlando regions.
