PDQ parent buys land for future Brandon chicken restaurant

PLANS, DESCRIPTION: Tampa-based MVP Restaurant Partners purchased a 2.54-acre property south of West Brandon Boulevard for $2.2 million.

The price equated to $866,142 per acre. That figure is close to the two-year average price per acre for retail space ($892,081) in the Tampa Bay area, according to the CoStar Group.

The new owner plans to construct a PDQ chicken restaurant on the Brandon site east of Westfield Brandon Mall and Interstate 75.

“We still have to go through zoning and permitting,” says Nick Reader, CEO of MVP Holdings. “We hope to get it in there by the third quarter or definitely by the end of the year.”

The restaurant company currently has a total of 18 locations in Florida, Alabama and North Carolina. Another five stores are expected to open, including locations in South Carolina and Texas.
