NORTH FORT MYERS — A Love's Travel Stop on State Road 78 at the intersection Interstate 75 opens today with amenities that include showers, shops and 96 parking spaces for truckers.

In addition, the fueling station includes Wendy's and Subway restaurants, a gift shop and a truck tire-care center. This is the company's ninth location in Florida.

“It gives us great pleasure to expand into the Fort Myers area,” says Tom Love, founder and executive chairman of Love's Travel Stops, in a statement. “This will be a convenient location for members of the community, tourists and professional drivers.”

Founded in 1964 by Tom Love, Love's Travel Stops & Country Stores is headquartered in Oklahoma City, Okla., and is family owned and operated. With more than 320 locations and 190 Love's Truck Tire Care centers in 39 states, Love's approximate growth rate is 20 stores per year, the company says.
