TAMPA — University of South Florida President Judy Genshaft has been named board chair of Junior Achievement of Tampa Bay.

“I am thrilled to have Judy Genshaft as chair of the board of directors of Junior Achievement of Tampa Bay,” Junior Achievement of Tampa Bay President Richard George says in a release. “JA's programs give young people the skills they need to succeed in the 21st century economy. I know they will work hard to ensure that JA continues to grow and reach more students in the Tampa Bay area.”

USF, under Genshaft's leadership, is now the ninth largest public research university in the nation, the release states. She was named president of the school in 2000. Current and past JA board members include TECO Energy President and CEO John Ramil; former Florida CFO and Florida gubernatorial and U.S. congressional candidate Alex Sink; and Sykes Enterprises President and CEO Chuck Sykes.
