Hertz social media lauded

NAPLES — Travel + Leisure recently awarded Hertz two awards for best use of social media by a car-rental company, the car-rental giant announced.

Hertz won the award for best overall use of social media among car-rental companies for communicating with customers using Twitter and Facebook. In addition, the company won an award for the best use of Foursquare, offering discounts to renters who checked into the location-based service at Hertz airport locations.

“At Hertz we're consistently looking for ways we can improve and excel within the car rental and travel industries,” says Mark Frissora, Hertz Chairman and CEO, in a statement.

Hertz is in the process of moving its global headquarters to Southwest Florida, where it is building a campus in Estero. The company currently leases space in Naples for its top executives.
