NAPLES — IberiaBank named David Gordley market president for Southwest Florida, expanding the executive's role after the retirement of Lee County executive Bill Valenti.

Gordley has served as Louisiana-based IberiaBank's market president for Collier County and his duties will now include overseeing Lee County as market president for Southwest Florida. Valenti has been market president for Lee County.

Valenti, whose banking career spans 50 years, was president and CEO of Florida Gulf Bank. IberiaBank acquired Florida Gulf in 2012, expanding its presence in Lee County. “He has provided invaluable leadership in Lee County which is why we have asked him to continue to be a part of our team as vice chair of the Lee County advisory board,” says Jim Gburek, regional state president for IberiaBank, in a statement.

“The merger with IberiaBank was the smoothest in my career and I am confident that the Lee County market and our bank associates will continue to thrive under the new leadership,” says Valenti, in a statement.
