Hertz recently unveiled renderings for its new global headquarters in Estero.

Earlier this year, the company picked Estero in south Lee County to consolidate its headquarters from Park Ridge, N.J., and those of Dollar Thrifty Automotive Group in Tulsa, Okla. Hertz acquired Dollar Thrifty one year ago.

When it's completed in 2015, the new building will accommodate 700 employees. The company says 300 people will relocate from the company's current headquarters in New Jersey and another 400 will be hired from the area.

A statement from Hertz about the new building was short on details about the new building, including its size, price tag or construction timeline. But the car-rental giant noted that it would comply with a special request from area residents: It will build a bus stop.
