SAN FRANCISCO — Two Tampa restaurants earned places on OpenTable's 2013 Diners' Choice Award for the Top 100 Hot Spot Restaurants in the U.S. The publicly traded provider of online restaurant reservations (symbol: OPEN, recent price: $61.67), creates the list from more than 5 million reviews submitted by verified OpenTable diners, it says in a release.

Fly Bar & Restaurant and Grille One Sixteen made the list from the Tampa area. In total, 18 restaurants made the list from Florida. Only California had more, with 26, and New York ranked third, with 14 restaurants. To see the complete list, click here.

"This year's winning restaurants have all the ingredients diners need to spice up any evening, whether it's a midweek meal or a destination celebration," says Caroline Potter, OpenTable chief dining officer, in the release. "Beyond cool crowds, daring drink lists, and inventive menus, these hot spots are cultivating a sexy see-and-be-seen ambience that will make for a night to remember."

Because the list uses reviews from OpenTable diners, it only includes restaurants that use the service for their reservations. OpenTable says it seats about 10 million diners per month through its online service, which is used by more than 27,000 restaurants.
