NEW PORT RICHEY — Marauder Marine Boat Works has been sold to one of the company's longtime customers.

Charter captain and fishing guide Rodney Ristau bought the New Port Richey company that has built custom bay boats for more than 20 years. The purchase price wasn't disclosed.

Ristau, who bought the third 24-foot Avenger built by Marauder in 1999, says he looks forward to applying his hands-on experience as a captain to achieve his goal of building the finest custom-built bay boats in Florida, says a press release. He has fished the waters of Tampa Bay, Lake Tarpon, Boca Grande and Charlotte Harbor over the past 22 years.

Marauder builds the 24- and 25-foot Avenger at its 3650 Drew Lane facility.
