SARASOTA— Evolucia Inc. has found a partner to help it distribute its specialty light-emitting diodes to Colombia. The Sarasota-based company has an agreement to work with Solarmax International S.A. to bring Evolucia's branded LEDs to the South American country.

Solarmax and Evolucia have entered into a one-year exclusive distribution agreement. Solarmax already sells a number of interior LED lighting products, but the Evolucia agreement helps it to offer exterior lighting as well.

Solarmax has a customer base that includes medical, pharmaceutical, military, universities, businesses and the public sector, according to a news release from Evolucia.

“Growing the Evolucia LED lighting brand in the global marketplace is our No. 1 objective, and this most recent agreement with Solarmax for Colombia distribution further establishes that goal,” Mel Interiano, CEO of Evolucia, says in a press release.

Evolucia has recently completed partnership deals to bring its LEDs to Asia, Europe and Australia. It has also signed a joint marketing agreement with OSRAM Mexico to integrate Evolucia technology into an OSRAM outdoor lighting system.
