NAPLES — Business veterans Ernest Linneman and John Allen were elected chairman and vice chairman of the board of the city of Naples Airport Authority.

Linneman is the former senior vice president of planning and corporate development for Honeywell Aerospace. He also was vice president and general manager of ITT Service Industries, which provided services to the three New York City airports. Linneman has been a commissioner since 2003 and previously served two terms as chairman.

Allen, who has served on the board since 2006, has served two terms as chairman. He is owner and CEO of Industrial Equities, a Minneapolis-based real estate investment, development and management firm he founded in 1983.

The board oversees the operations of Naples Municipal Airport. Last year, the airport held discussions with JetBlue to provide commercial passenger service to Naples from New York City. Delta Connection was the last major carrier to operate scheduled airline service to Naples from Atlanta, but it discontinued the service in 2007.
