PLANS, DESCRIPTION: Phoenix-based Ewing Irrigation Products Inc. purchased an 11,880-square-foot industrial showroom building for $837,500.
The price equated to $70 per square foot. That figure is higher than the two-year average price per square foot for industrial space ($46) in the Tampa Bay area, according to the CoStar Group.
The family-owned landscape and water-management product supplier plans to convert the building into one of its branches. The new location is scheduled to open in the second quarter.
“It has been in our business plan to expand further in the Florida market for quite a while now,” says Ken Kelly, director of facilities.
The new branch will be the company's first along the west coast of Florida. Ewing Irrigation Products currently has eight branches in Florida, including Fort Walton Beach, Kissimmee, Jacksonville, Orlando, Panama City Beach, Pensacola, Sanford and Tallahassee.
