PALM HARBOR — In a long-planned expansion, FreightCenter will host a grand opening at its new Palm Harbor offices Oct. 1.

The firm, which is one of the fastest-growing freight and logistics service companies in the nation, is nearly doubling its space with the move, from its 8,900-square-foot offices in Trinity to 16,000 square feet of space at 34125 U.S. 19 N. in Palm Harbor. In a statement, the company says it is already looking for more office space to expand its headquarters further.

In January, FreightCenter Chairman Jim Brosious told the Business Observer the company was looking to add at least 70 sales people to fuel its growth strategy. Brosious said at the time the company planned to spend at least $500,000 on the move and the investment in new employees.

In a statement on the move, the company says it currently has 150 employees and expects to add 50 more by January. The company says its new space will help it expand its mission to more outbound sales and software development.

FreightCenter had $38 million in 2012 revenues, which earned it the No. 157 spot on the Business Observer's Gulf Coast 500 annual ranking of companies from Tampa to Naples. The company's growth also landed it a No. 2,681 spot on the Inc. 5000, with 131% growth in revenues in the past three years.
