TAMPA — Corner Bakery Cafe has reached a deal with CB Restaurant Holdings to bring the restaurant franchise to Tampa Bay, it announced in a statement.
CB Restaurant Holdings, which owns and operates more than 25 Wendy's restaurants in Southern Florida and Panama, has agreed to open a total of 14 new Corner Bakery Cafes in the Tampa Bay area.
The franchise agreement was part of larger announcement by Corner Bakery Cafe that it had reached deals with five franchise partners to expand the fast-causal restaurant chain into Oklahoma and Massachusetts and three new markets in Florida and California. The deals will create 10 new restaurants in Northeast Florida, nine in San Diego, seven in Oklahoma and 21 in Boston. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
The first cafes in each market are expected to open next year.
Overall, the agreements add 61 new cafes, raising the total to almost 300 committed cafes, as the company moves forward on its goal to more than double its U.S. footprint in the next three to four years. It currently has 150 company-owned and franchised locations in 14 states and Washington, D.C.
The cafe's other new franchise partners include FEAST California Cafe LLC for the San Diego expansion, CBCOK LLC for Oklahoma, Lee Wesley Restaurants LLC for Northeastern Florida and Parikh Network for Boston.
