GULF COAST — Dallas-based Le Duff America Inc., subsidiary of Group le Duff SA, is looking to bring franchises of its la Madeleine brand to the Gulf Coast in 2013, it announced in a news release.

The company, which has more than 60 la Madeleine bakery/cafe locations nationwide, says it's launching an aggressive growth strategy and projects opening up to eight new la Madeleine franchised restaurants in Fort Myers, Tampa and Naples.

The French bakery and cafe serves breakfast through dinner, and specializes in French pastries, breads and snacks as well as homemade soups, salads, pastas and sandwiches.

Each restaurant employs about 30 people per location, the release states.

For franchisees, the company says the restaurant offers consistent customer traffic through the day, and annual average unit sales volume of $2.1 million, with 17% EBITDA, and a $1.1 million build-out, the release says.

The company will open seven company-owned restaurants in large markets in 2013 in addition to expanding its franchising efforts.
