TAMPA — WellCare Health Plans has completed its acquisition of Missouri Care Inc., it announced in a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission today.

WellCare (symbol: WCG, recent price: $56.68) entered into an agreement to acquire the Aetna Inc. subsidiary on Jan. 22. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

According to the filing, as of December, Missouri Care serves more than 100,000 MO HealthNet Medicaid program members in 54 counties in Missouri, and its provider network includes more than 50 hospitals and 9,500 physicians.

WellCare is not revising its 2013 financial guidance to reflect the acquisition, the company says. It intends to update its 2013 financial outlook when it reports its financial results for the first quarter.

Tampa-based WellCare Health Plans provides managed care services with a focus on government-sponsored health care programs, including Medicaid and Medicare.
