TAMPA — Sykes Enterprises, a customer management outsourcing firm, named longtime logistics industry executive Christopher Carrington executive vice president of global delivery.
Carrington, previously president and CEO of Alpine Access, a virtual call center company Sykes acquired last month, replaces Executive Vice President of Global Operations James Hobby, who is retiring Sept. 30. In his new role, Carrington will oversee daily operations, administration and development of the company's customer base in the United States, Latin America, South Asia and Asia-Pacific, according to a release.
“I am confident that we have in place the right building blocks and a culture that are up to the challenge of getting the company back on a sustainable growth path and toward its high single-digit long-term operating margin goal,” Carrington says in the release.
Alpine quadrupled in size under Carrington's leadership. Carrington was also an executive with Capgemini and Electronic Data Systems.
Tampa-based Sykes is publicly traded (symbol: SYKE; recent price: $13.72). For more on the Alpine Access deal click here.
