PLANS, DESCRIPTION: A company led by Thomas Bowes, president of Bowes Imaging Center, purchased a 9,990-square-foot vacant office building on Cortez Road for $740,000.
The price equated to $74 per square foot.
The building previously housed Capital Financial Mortgage and Century 21 Alliance. The seller was an affiliate of Wilmington, Del.-based The Bancorp Inc.
Bowes Imaging Center plans to convert the 10-year-old building into an MRI diagnostic center.
Lenora Woodham and Roy Watters of Wagner Realty handled the transaction.
“They liked that it was so close to Blake Hospital,” says Watters. “It was basically setup for a mortgage company with individual offices, so they have a little work to do.”
Bowes Imaging Center's contractor Ed Seifried Construction Inc. has already started on the renovations to the building.
The purchase entity Bowes Realty Co. LLC mortgaged the property to Regions Bank for $788,000.
