FORT MYERS — Cancer radiation firm Radiation Therapy Services Holdings appointed Antoine Agassi as senior vice president and chief information officer.

Most recently, Agassi served as president, chief operating officer and chief information officer of Cogent HMG, a firm that announced earlier this month a venture to provide hospital physicians to Lee Memorial Health System in Fort Myers.

Agassi will oversee Radiation Therapy's integration of technology into measurement of patient outcomes and formulation of payment systems in light of changes in health care legislation.

“As we continue to expand our presence through our integrated cancer care strategy, Antoine's leadership will be instrumental in integrating the systems, processes and records that ensure we are providing the best care and measuring patient outcomes,” says Radiation Therapy President and CEO Daniel Dosoretz in a written statement.

“In addition, as we focus on developing innovative approaches to payment, including bundled payments based upon episodes of care such as our recently announced contract with Humana and the proposal we have presented to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, our information systems will be a key factor in driving profitable growth,” Dosoretz says.

Headquartered in Fort Myers, Radiation Therapy operates 126 cancer-treatment centers, including 95 in the U.S., 30 in Latin America and the Caribbean and one in India.
