Jeff Tumbarello follows the Lee County foreclosure market carefully, and he always finds an interesting nugget of information in his monthly reports to the Southwest Florida Real Estate Investment Association.

Tumbarello likes to put numbers in context, so consider this: Since January 2006, he says attorneys filed 83,402 mortgage foreclosures in Lee County.

Now put this in perspective: During the real estate boom from Jan. 1, 2004, until Dec. 31, 2006, there were 47,022 residential real estate transactions.
