SARASOTA — The Sarasota franchise unit of Right at Home, an in-home care services firm with a focus on elderly clients, recently surpassed a major milestone: The unit broke into the top 5% in annual sales among the company's 273 franchised locations.

The Right at Home branch serves Charlotte and Sarasota counties, and offers some services in Manatee County. It's run by Michael Juceam, a onetime corporate and securities attorney who previously founded a Web-based document management firm specializing in health care and financial services.

The franchise, says Juceam, has grown sales at least 30% in each of the last three years. In an interview today with the Business Review, Juceam declines to disclose specific annual sales, though he says his franchise does between $3 million and $10 million in sales a year.

Juceam launched his Right at Home franchise in 2004. He attributes the recent growth surge to both his internal team of marketing and sales people, and a growth in the services elderly clients seek. “We're just barely scratching the surface when it comes to providing quality in-home care for those who need it,” says Juceam, in a release.

The local Right at Home franchise has nine internal employees, and 180 caregivers in the field. The Right at Home parent company, based in Omaha, Neb., will honor Juceam's franchise at an event in Orlando later this month. The parent company, which began franchising in 2000, recently surpassed $1 billion in annual revenues, according to the release.
