TAMPA — MaxxAir Vent Corp., a leading provider of aftermarket ventilation products for recreational vehicles (RV) was recently acquired by Airxcel.

Tampa-based MaxxAir was founded in 1989 and distributes its products to more than 4,000 dealers across the U.S. and internationally. Its flagship product, the MaxxAir louvered vent cap cover, has sold more than 2 million units.

Airxcel, based in Wichita, Kan., designs and manufactures heating and air-conditioning products for RVs as well as for telecommunication shelters, school classrooms, assisted-living and multifamily structures. In addition to its Kansas headquarters, it has business units in Cordele, Ga., and Dayton, Tenn.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed. Tampa's Hyde Park Capital served as the investment banker and financial adviser to MaxxAir for the transaction.
