BUYER: Ellenton Terra Corp. (principals: Mark and Margaret Sharff), Sarasota

SELLER: Boyz-N-Burgers LLC

PROPERTY: 6015 and 6025 U.S. 301 N., Ellenton

PRICE: $1.05 million

PREVIOUS PRICE: $760,000, July 2004 (Vacant)

LAW FIRM ON DEED: J. Kevin Drake PA, Sarasota

PLANS, DESCRIPTION: Mark and Margaret Sharff of Sarasota purchased a former Sonics Drive Inn restaurant on 1.8 acres for $1.05 million.

The restaurant features a small central building and an 8,044-square-foot overhang. The property was purchased as an investment.

“In a very few days, we have had significant interest from several national fast food operators,” Mark Sharff says in an email to the Business Review. “As an improved site in a high profile corridor across from the Ellenton Outlets, this should find great favor with the large quick serve name brands.”

Nick DeVito II of Ian Black Real Estate is currently marketing the property for the new owners.

The seller, Boyz-N-Burgers, closed all 11 Sonic Drive-In restaurants in the Tampa Bay area in late 2010. It cited the soft economy.
