PLANS, DESCRIPTION: Sarasota-based Ackerman Investment Group purchased a 7,380-square-foot retail/medical building on Beneva Road for $1 million.
The price equated to $136 per square foot.
The 32-year-old building houses the chiropractic practice of Dr. Joseph Neunder, the Builders Estimating and Exam School, the State Farm insurance office of Ric Coffey and Edward Jones Investment.
“We liked the mix of strong local tenants,” says Mark Ackerman, managing member of the family-run local partnership that purchased the building. “It just needs some loving attention. We plan to get in there and restore some of its luster.”
The new owner expects to perform a number of cosmetic faÃ§ade changes including painting the building, removing the shutters and improving the landscaping and exterior lighting.
