It's certainly a good sign, anecdotally at least, that a company with a mission to find employees for engineering, architecture and construction firms is growing.

That's what's happening at AEC Consulting Group, based in suburban Atlanta, in Norcross, Ga. The five-employee firm recently opened its second office, in Sarasota. “The Florida market has seen some tough times,” AEC Managing Partner Greg Goslin says. “But we are seeing some clients preparing to (build) back up again.”

Goslin founded AEC two years ago. The firm has since grown rapidly, especially in the area of civil engineers, which is partially why Goslin sought to open a second office. He projects $1.2 million in sales in 2012, which would be up nearly 30% over 2011.

Goslin hired local executive recruitment veteran Mike Cash to run the Sarasota office. Cash, who has worked in executive recruiting for health care, government and maritime clients, is likewise optimistic. He hopes to hire up to five people to staff the office by the end of 2012. “Business is fantastic for us,” Cash tells Coffee Talk. “And when business is good for us, that means it's good for our clients.”
