FORT MYERS — Spirit Airlines plans to double the number of cities it serves with nonstop flights to Fort Myers this winter by adding three new destinations: Boston, Dallas and Minneapolis.

The Miramar-based discount airline says it plans to start nonstop service from Fort Myers to the three additional cities Nov. 8, coinciding with the start of the busy winter tourism season.

The nonstop flights will be scheduled daily for service between Southwest Florida International Airport in Fort Myers to Boston and Minneapolis. Flights to Dallas will operate three times a week.

The new destinations will be seasonal and service between these cities will end April 24, the airline says. The airline currently flies from Fort Myers to Atlantic City, Chicago and Detroit.
