TAMPA — Atlanta-based private equity firm Roark Capital Group has acquired Tampa-based QualaWash Holdings, a truck tank and container washing firm with 52 locations nationwide.

Terms of the deal, announced late yesterday, weren't disclosed. QualaWash's niche is in cleaning the inside and outside of tanks and containers on large trucks, including ones transporting industrial oils, resins and paints, according to a release. The company, which also provides supply chain management services, uses proprietary cleaning and residual waste formulas on washing projects.

Roark, meanwhile, specializes in investing in environmental services firms, according to the release. The firm and its affiliates previously invested $100 million in Waste Pro USA and $120 million in GFL Environmental, a solid and liquid waste collection company in Canada. Roark focuses most of its investments on middle market companies.

“Roark's team and industry experience will provide QualaWash with the additional resources needed to accelerate our disciplined approach to organic and acquisition growth,” QualaWash CEO Mike Bauer says in the release.
