Now that's a retirement party.

More than 4,000 people showed up at the two-day retirement party for Myra Janco Daniels on Jan. 14 and 15, the founder of the Naples Philharmonic Center for the Arts.

You would expect no less for the grand dame of the Naples arts scene. A former advertising agency executive, Daniels was arguably the area's most successful nonprofit fundraiser.

A star-studded cast paid homage to Daniels, including Florida Gov. Rick Scott, comedian Bill Cosby, Paul Anka, Neil Sedaka, opera star Harolyn Blackwell and Boston Pops conductor Keith Lockhart. The weekend also featured the premiere of a new documentary titled Box 23, the Myra Janco Daniels Story.

And in case you wondered, it wouldn't be a proper Myra party without her securing big donations. Daniels raised $5.9 million through the weekend for the Myra Janco Daniels Legacy Fund.
