Gulf Coast homebuilder Pat Neal will be in good shape if his 2012 resolution is to have more of the same from 2011.
It would certainly be counterintuitive, considering how deep the recession swallowed the industry. But Lakewood Ranch-based Neal Communities had one of its best years in 2011. The firm closed on 375 homes and had 451 gross contracts last year, for a total that surpassed $115 million. That's up 45% from 2010. The average sales price of a Neal Communities home in 2011 was $283,867.
The success, says Neal, stems from a variety of additions and expansions. The firm added a mortgage company and a title company, which brought in new business and made current business more efficient. The firm's interior design center, meanwhile, Charlene Neal PureStyle, expanded its services, both for Neal Communities customers and outside clients. And the homebuilder's pool division, Waterscapes Pools & Spas, which was launched in 2009, surpassed 150 pool sales in 2011.
“I am absolutely convinced that we have the strongest team of any builder in Southwest Florida,” Neal says in a statement.
