TAMPA — Leasing activity at MetWest International, one of the more prominent mixed-use projects in the Westshore business district, will end 2012 on an upswing.

The complex, comprised of three buildings, signed 57,000 square feet of leases in the third and fourth quarter, according to a release. One building, One MetroCenter, is now 85% leased, while MetWest One is now 88% leased. A third building, MetWest Two, which was a build-to-suit for PricewaterouseCoopers, is 100% leased.

Some of the recent transactions include:
• ASPire Financial Services, an interactive web software company for the retirement plan industry, leased an additional 11,416 square feet. The firm now has 21,679 square feet at One MetroCenter.
• Stifel, Nicolaus & Co., leased 2,046 square feet at One MetroCenter. The brokerage and investment banking firm, the release states, will move into its new office in January.
• Marcus & Millichap, the commercial real estate services firm, leased 8,828 square feet. The firm plans to move its offices from Rocky Point to MetWest One in February.

MetLife, the global insurance and benefits firm, owns MetWest International. The non-office parts of the development include restaurants Kona Grill and Texas de Brazil. The proposal for the project also includes a 260-room full service hotel and 254 residential units. Atlanta-based Taylor & Mathis is the property and leasing manager for MetWest International.
