National homebuilder Taylor Morrison continues to take a lead role in the burgeoning industry recovery on the Gulf Coast.

Sales at the firm were up 23% year-over-year through Oct. 31, the company says. Traffic at sales centers is up 28%, and year-to-date the company has pulled 527 permits from Tampa to Naples.

“We are moving full speed ahead with land purchases, new models and amenity centers, and we have added new staff members to support that growth,” West Florida division President Steve Kempton says in a release. “I am extremely encouraged with our sales numbers this year and am optimistic that more good news is in store in 2013.”

Scottsdale, Ariz.-based Taylor Morrison builds homes in 20 Gulf Coast communities. The company recently announced two major golf-related projects in the region: One is in Naples, three miles east of Interstate 75 off Immokalee Road. The other is in east Manatee County, in Lakewood Ranch. The firm also recently began building homes in River Plantation in Parrish, in north Manatee County.
