CLEARWATER — PODS Enterprises Inc., a moving and storage services company, hired John B. Koch as its new president and CEO, according to a news release.

In 2006, Koch, 49, became chief operating officer of ADT, and is currently its president of North America, Residential/Small Business in Boca Raton. He will take the helm at Clearwater-based PODS Sept. 17.

Prior to working at ADT, Koch was president of wireline services at Alltel. He earned a Bachelor of Science and Master of Science in Systems Engineering from the University of Virginia, according to the release.

"John is the right leader at this time for PODS, especially with the opportunities and challenges we now face," says Ransom James, co-executive chairman of PODS, in a release. "At ADT, he helped build an industry-leading consumer brand through innovative, efficient and profitable customer experiences.”

Founded in 1998, PODS provides moving services using its trademark storage containers. It serves 48 states, Canada, Australia and the United Kingdom through its company-owned and independent franchise network.
