CareSouth Homecare, an Augusta, Ga.-based home health care firm, is making a large expansion into the Gulf Coast.

CareSouth acquired assets of Boynton Beach-based Alliance Care, a company with offices in several Florida locations, including Bradenton, Sarasota, Tampa and Largo, according to a release. Alliance Care provides home health care, private duty and physician house call services.

CareSouth also announced it will take over Alliance Care offices in Dundee, Fort Lauderdale, Jacksonville, Ormond Beach and West Palm Beach. All former Alliance Care offices are now operating under the CareSouth Homecare Professionals name.

Terms of the deal weren't released. CareSouth, in the release, says the transaction was one of the largest in its history, and it hopes to increase the employee base of the Florida facilities in “the near future.”

CareSouth now has 55 home health care locations spread through Alabama, Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, Tennessee, Texas and Virginia.
