Five Gulf Coast law offices are part of a group of firms that set up a series of town hall meetings to help businesses file claims from the 2010 BP Gulf oil spill.
The local firms participating in the town halls are: Thomas L. Young in Tampa; Wilbur Smith in Fort Myers; Robert Turffs in Sarasota; Clearwater-based Kwall, Showers & Barack; and Lucas, Green & Magazine, with offices in New Port Richey and Clearwater. There are seven firms in total in the group. The others are from Miami and South Carolina.
“Our goal is to educate business owners and residents about their legal options in the wake of a massive plaintiffs' settlement reached last month with BP,” said Miami trial attorney Gabrielle D'Alemberte in a news release. D'Alemberte, with the D'Alemberte Trial firm, helped organize the group of lawyers, which go by the name “Businesses by the Beach.”
Thomas Young, the Tampa attorney, is the statewide coordinator for local Florida law firms assisting individual homeowners, businesses and local governments that were victims of the spill. Click here for more information.
