FORT MYERS — Lee Memorial Health System expanded its pediatric specialty care office in Naples, doubling the number of exam rooms and adding services.

The Naples Pediatric Specialty Clinic on Immokalee Road opened in March 2011 with six exam rooms in 6,400 square feet. Now the facility has 12 rooms in 10,800 square feet.

The clinic now offers pediatric orthopedics in addition to other specialties, such as hematology, oncology and cardiology. The clinic also includes a children's rehabilitation center.

“Before we opened this clinic, sick children in Collier County had the additional burden of traveling to Fort Myers, or sometimes even further to Miami or Tampa, to receive the care of this level of medical specialists,” said Emad Salman, medical director of The Children's Hospital of Southwest Florida.

Lee Memorial operates four hospitals in Lee County totaling more than 1,420 beds, plus two specialty hospitals, including The Children's Hospital.
