IMMOKALEE — Six L's, the field tomato growing company based in Collier County, is officially changing its name to Lipman. The company had been operating under both names, but is now consolidating its brand image.

The Immokalee-based grower generates $150 million in annual sales from its tomato crop. A year ago, the firm hired Kent Shoemaker as its CEO, the first time the company hired an outsider as chief executive.

Larry Lipman, the CEO before Shoemaker and grandson of company founder Max Lipman, spoke to the Business Review about his company's future growth prospects in June (see “Top Tomato,” June 24).
