Bradenton-based Mark Cahill Investments LLC is proposing to develop a 21,800-square-foot retail center on the south side of State Road 64 East west of Lakewood Ranch Boulevard in Lakewood Ranch.

The developer has a contingent contract to purchase a 2.9-acre single-family property at 10208 State Road 64 E., Bradenton from Lawrence and Sally Reagan.

Mark Cahill Investments has filed to rezone the Manatee County property from agricultural to planned development commercial and has also received preliminary site plan approval to develop a two-building retail center called Plaza East.

“Part of the schedule will depend on the [real estate] market,” says Mark Barnebey of Kirk Pinkerton PA, who is representing the developer in the project. “It's in a growing area on a main arterial roadway. A lot of residences are going up in that area.”

Barnebey says Plaza East could house professional office tenants as well as retail.
