Fort Myers-based Home-Tech has started construction on its new 10,400-square-foot service office, technical training center and showroom building on Lena Road in eastern Manatee County. The $1.3 million building is scheduled to open in the first quarter of 2012.

Home-Tech has hired six new employees to help staff the new building and plans to hire seven more.

Home-Tech first entered the Sarasota market in 1992 with an office in Venice.

“We knew we needed a larger commitment and a strong physical presence in the area to bring the full Home-Tech experience to Sarasota-Bradenton,” Steve Marino, president and founder of Home-Tech, says in a press release.

The firm has hired Manasota Commercial Construction as the general contractor for the building, and Lakewood Ranch-based World Designs Inc. is its architect.

The new building will feature a 3,000-square-foot showroom and a training center with simulated air conditioning and appliances for technical training.

Home-Tech is an appliance and air-conditioning service company.
