People are on the move again.

Jim Henderson, president of William C. Huff, an upscale moving company with offices in Naples and Barrington, N.H., says more people are moving to Florida this year from New Hampshire than in the last 24 years.

Henderson's New Hampshire-to-Florida moving business has increased more than sevenfold this year through September compared with the same period last year. He says that's because baby boomers are deciding to make the move to Florida while real estate prices are relatively low.

“There are a lot of people coming to buy” in Florida, Henderson says. “I've helped people find Realtors to buy homes. We haven't seen that in the past two years.”

Barring a financial-markets downturn or other catastrophe, Henderson says he doesn't expect that positive trend to stop. “Considering our society tends to be a herd mentality and given that trend, I would expect it to continue,” he says.
