PLANS, DESCRIPTION: Patricia and Dale Givens of Fort Myers purchased business and real estate of Scotties Canvas & Marine Outfitters in north Fort Myers. The Givens acquired the 21,110-square-foot building on 2.58 acres of land for $1 million.
The price equated to $47 per square foot.
The property features a 35-year-old building and a large fenced yard.
“This is my husband's passion,” says Patricia Givens. “He has a background in manufacturing sales and service. He's run several manufacturing companies, mainly [manufacturing] automotive and plastic products.”
The Givens plan to keep the business operating as is at least in the near term. The couple also hopes to eventually have their children join them in the business.
“Scotties has been supporting the local community for over 45 years,” she says. “We intend to continue to do so.”
The business does canvas, awning and boat sales.
The purchase entity The Givens Group LLC mortgaged the property to KeyBank National Association for $1.39 million.
