TAMPA -- The American College of Physician Executives (ACPE) appointed Dr. Peter Angood as its newest CEO this week.
Angood comes to the Tampa-based ACPE from a health care consulting firm in Boston, where he also served as CEO. He replaces Dr. Barry Silbaugh, who announced his intent to resign from the group in March.
The ACPE describes itself as the largest health care organization in the county for “physician executives” -- that is, “doctors who hold leadership and management positions” -- who want to improve their leadership skills. Since its founding in 1975, the ACPE has grown from 64 members to nearly 10,000, the organization's website says.
The group's headquarters are located in downtown Tampa on Ashley Drive.
