IMMOKALEE -- Lipman, the largest field tomato grower in North America, expanded further this week by acquiring Portland, Ore.-based Coastal Brokers. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Coastal Brokers will contribute to Lipman's operations in research and development, farming, packing, processing, repacking and procurement solutions, a release says.
Lipman (formerly known as Six L's) employs more than 4,000 at 23 worksites throughout North America. The fourth-generation family business hired its first CEO from outside the family this year.
