BUYER: Railhead Holdings LLC (principals: Larry Schuchman, Joshua Tuyls and Shelley Kienzle), Naples

SELLER: North Naples Storage Inc.

PROPERTY: 1401 Rail Head Blvd., Naples

PRICE: $1.4 million

PREVIOUS PRICE: $1.45 million, March 2000

LAW FIRM ON DEED: Paulich Slack & Wolff PA, Naples

PLANS, DESCRIPTION: The owners of Railhead Recycling purchased a 26,000-square-foot manufacturing building on three acres for $1.4 million.

The price equated to $54 per square foot.

The new buyers plan to convert 12,000 square feet in the building into a paper-baling plant, a facility for shredding and processing used paper so it can be reused by paper mills.

“There isn't another big commercial bailing operating in Naples,” says Larry Schuchman, president of the new company. “It has to be trucked up to Fort Myers. We hope that some of the people that have been giving their product away (to Waste Management) might want to sell it to us.”

Schuchman says he was attracted to the building's location in north Naples and the size of the facility, which includes 6,000 square feet of office space.

The building is being renovated, and the plant is scheduled to open in mid-June.

The building owners have also agreed to lease out 8,000 square feet to Top Gun Allstar Cheerleading.

Steve Hovland of Hovland Real Estate represented the seller.
