NAPLES — Immokalee Regional Airport has a new tenant: Turbo Services, an aircraft engine testing and repair firm based in Margate, in Southeast Florida.
Turbo Services will spend $680,000 to construct a new 2,000-square-foot facility near the airport and furnish it with necessary equipment. The company is receiving assistance from the Collier County Airport Authority, as well as the Economic Development Council of Collier County to help it complete its move.
Turbo Services is family owned, and has 15 employees. The company overhauled 41 aircraft engines in 2010, a company statement says.
The company's new facility is being built adjacent to a 20,000-square-foot manufacturing facility, owned and operated by Salazar Machine & Steel. That facility's construction also received assistance from the Airport Authority and the Collier EDC.
