ST. PETERSBURG — The St. Petersburg Area Chamber of Commerce will eliminate all 12 of the positions occupied by its current employees, and will establish seven new positions as part of its reorganization strategy.
“I am confident these actions today will... ensure this organization sustains over the long term,” says chamber President and CEO Chris Steinocher in a prepared statement. Steinocher also said that each of the chamber's current employees would have an opportunity to apply for a position after the reorganization is complete.
Steinocher took over at the St. Petersburg Chamber earlier this year. Prior to assuming his latest position, he served as chief operating officer for the Tampa Bay Partnership.
The St. Petersburg Chamber of Commerce serves roughly 2,000 members. This year is the organization's 112th year of operation.
