PLANS, DESCRIPTION: Bradenton Urgent Care purchased its 4,000-square-foot building on Manatee Avenue for $700,000.
The price equated to $175 per square foot.
Bradenton Urgent Care has leased the 19-year-old building since 2008.
“It's such a good location,” says Dr. Eric Folkens, the owner and operator of the clinic. “Now is the right time to buy something like this. We are renting right now out in Lakewood Ranch, but we would buy if we could.”
Folkens started his business with Lakewood Ranch Urgent Care in 2007. He opened the Bradenton center in 2008 and a third clinic on the campus of IMG Academies last year. His fourth facility, in north Sarasota County, was scheduled to open earlier this month.
“There's a lot of competition right now, “ he says. “I think we have a good business plan that allows us to be able to treat people right so they tell other people and come back to us.”
