FORT MYERS — Chico's FAS Inc. (symbol: CHS) named Pamela Knous its newest chief financial officer, chief accounting officer and executive vice president in an official statement this morning. She joins the company effective immediately.

Prior to joining Chico's, Knous worked as the chief financial officer for Supervalu Inc., a publicly traded grocer based in Minnesota with $8.6 billion in revenues in its most recent fiscal year, ended in February.

Chico's second quarter revenues grew 12% over the year in 2011. The company's stock price is up 24% so far this year, to nearly $15, but still well below its all-time high of nearly $50 in early 2006.

In April, the Business Review spoke to Chico's chief operating officer Kent Kleeberger about the Fort Myers-based retailer's long-term corporate strategy (see “Chico's Turnaround,” April 29).
