CARROLLWOOD — Whole Foods Market Inc. (symbol: WFM) will open a new store in Carrollwood at the end of 2012, the grocer's 17th location in Florida. The new store will be located at the intersection of Dale Mabry Highway and Northdale Boulevard.

Whole Foods' Carrollwood location will occupy a 36,000-square-foot building formerly used by Wild Oats. Whole Foods acquired Wild Oats in February 2007, paying $565 million and taking over 74 stores, including the Carrollwood location.

Based in Austin, Texas, Whole Foods Market generated $9 billion in revenues in 2010. Its stock is up 27% in 2011, to a per-share price slightly greater than $64, near its 52-week high of $66.87.
